Plush Toys
They're soft, come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes and often squeak, grunt or even talk. They are great for cuddlers and gentle players who enjoy tossing and fetching and the most durable plush toys can even hold up to moderately aggressive play including shaking and tugging.
A plush toy is any toy with an outer layer of some type of fabric. However, there is a huge variety in those fabrics, what is underneath those fabrics and how it is all put together. Some toys have a single layer of very soft fabric and are only suitable for the gentlest of players. At the other extreme, some toys have multiple layers, including extremely durable fabrics, multiple rows of stitching, and other construction techniques to increase the durability of the toy.
We rate each toy using our Toy Pawformance Rating System which ranks toys based on toughness. This is not a rating of good and bad but only a scale of how the toy holds up to rough behaviors. Plush toys by their nature will be less tough on average than toys made of other materials. You can read more about our rating system here.
